Hey y'all!

Hey y'all! It feels like I haven't been on here in forever! I began this blog with the intention of updating it regularly, but as you all know, sometimes life just gets in the way.  I am going to try to at least update it weekly with some reviews. I can't count how many books I've actually read in the 2 months since my last post. I am beginning to believe that I have slight addiction to one-click on Amazon. Oh how easy it makes it to get my hands on so many new books. Let's just see if I can help out some of my favorite authors get the word out with some reviews!! I feel horrible that I never feel like I make the time to review books when they are my second favorite passion next to my beautiful baby girl, Sophia!

Review - Star Crossed (Battered Hearts Book 2) by Kele Moon

Synopsis Via: Goodreads

Heavyweight MMA fighter, Romeo Wellings comes from the hard streets of New York where his family ties to the mafia cause him nothing but pain. His life takes a surprising detour when he crosses paths with the twin sister of his long time enemy. After a steamy one-night stand, he faces the fight of his life, but it’s not in the cage. The secret relationship that blooms between Romeo and his real life Juliet has him battling his family and a dark past rather than let her go.

The only lawyer in her hometown of Garnet, Jules Conner is also a volunteer Sheriff’s deputy and co-owner of a successful MMA training center. Strong and dependable, Jules is always there for those who need her. Until one forbidden night in Las Vegas with Romeo leaves her feeling so alive she can’t stop reaching out to the sexy, bad boy of MMA, even knowing the forbidden love affair could jeopardize everything.

As the tide rises against them and the people they love work at keeping them apart, Romeo and Jules hold onto a dream for a better life together and vow to go down fighting rather than accept a tragic ending.

My Review:

The second installment of Kele Moon's Battered Heart's Series, "Star Crossed" is the story of MMA fighter Romeo Wellings and Juliet "Jules" Conner.   Romeo is a quintessential Italian bad boy and Jules is a tough as nails lawyer and cop in a small country town. Sparks fly between the two and the chemistry is undeniable, but is that enough?  Not only is Romeo the rival opponent of Jules best friend and client, Clay, he also has ties to the mafia and a past that should make any woman run. Jules has an overprotective twin brother who is retired from the MMA and also happens to be the town sheriff.  This is a classic story of obstacles getting in the way of true love.  Can they overcome all that stands in between them and have a happy life together, or is it enough to tear them apart for good?
I loved the first installment of the series "Defying the Odds" and have had "Star Crossed" on my to read list for quite a while.  I finally got a chance to read it and was definitely not disappointed. Kele Moon keeps you enthralled and you don't want to put the book down. You fall in love with the character's and are rooting for them and their romance to succeed.  Plus, it really helps that the sex scenes are HOT!!!  If you have a lazy afternoon and want something to read, pick this one up.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

Welcome Y'all!!

Hey y'all and welcome to my crazy life! My name is Jessica. I'm a 27 year old wife and mom to a very adorable but precocious 2 1/2 year old daughter, Sophia. I work for a hospital that is part of one of the largest health systems in Louisiana. Reading is my escape from the mundane.  My husband works away from home, often for months at a time, and the books help to curb the loneliness that comes along with that.  When I'm not busy being mommy, working, or trying to keep my house from looking like a toddler tornado came through it, you will find my with a book or my i-pad in hand.  My husband tells me I'm obsessed.  He often jokes that I'm going to end up a crazy, cat lady with only my books to keep me company, lol! He's gone so much that sometimes it feels like I'm a single mom.  I thought that through chronicling the insanity that is my life, I could gain perspective from others and hopefully give y'all a few laughs.  Please bear with my as I learn my way around the blogging universe.  I'll try to keep y'all entertained with my craziness along with some book reviews.  I figured as much as I read, I could at least help promote my favorite books and authors by telling y'all all about them!
